It looks like prices may have stabilized on the reo's? I think we could be near a bottom in nominal terms. ???
Looks like the second wave is coming on strong. Wonder if this new wave is mostly Alt-A or are we still in subprime territory?
Now that BofA has been bamboozled, the web site can be updated with the real numbers showing REO is still growing. Funny how all the reports for the prior months showed lower REO inventory!
As much as I enjoy reading this, I have to wonder how "Countrywide" even has any REO to be selling anymore. Silly BAC.
xpovos,
BAC = Titanic
Countrywide = Iceberg
Does Countrywide even own all the REOs they list on their site? Because I was in contract with them on a home they just discovered they don't even own. Make that 15,107 homes offered for sale on their website - who knows how many more they have screwed up.
This is crazy...Don't know what to do! Have been under contract with Country Wide on an REO with a clear title. Now 3 months post the original closing date. They never could say what the problem was, when it could be resolved (2-8 weeks), and their realty reps have one answer to every questions. "No update, We don't know!" Bank just has a "glitch" to fix!
-Just needed somewhere to vent my frustrations. As if buying your first home wasn't scary enough!
The second wave has yet to take its full effect. The credit crisis is nowhere near over. Banks are still getting squeezed by losses on bad loan and lower revenue from higher expenses. The best way to buy foreclosures is short sales - before the bank has incurred thousands of additional dollars in lost interest income, and as well as out pocket expenses for legal fees, property taxes and insurance. www.nutsandboltsrealestate.com
Anonymous,
We have been 4 months trying to buy a Short Sale through Countrywide. For Cash.
They have yet to accept the offer and can not give us any updates. We are walking away when the last extension is up and wil be working on a BOA Foreclosure. We hope that goes better.
Our offer was 90% of the last appraisal, and they still can't get an answer. Makes you glad our tax dollars helped them out. But hey, I feel your frustration!
country wide big rip-off outfit our daughter tried to do a loan modafication, while talking to the reps for the modafication, they were in contact with the Mortgage co, to see if it was a scam, they told her no they were to get the paper work in 1-2 business days, well when they were waiting they got 2 months behind because they told her not to make payments, the next thing the sheriffs put a foreclosure notice on the door.....and then they were told the modafication wasnt going to go thru...Now it will cost those kids about 20,000 to get this stopped and their house back. Where can we go for help???? She has MS and cant be stressed, will so much for that because they are just sick. Where is someone to watch these mortgage co? This should be against the law on what is going here.
When are you going to update this chart?
